The Highlands
To get to the highlands we flew by small plane to Mendi where we transfered to a smaller plane which could land on the short dirt strip at Tara. From there it was a short ride by landrover to the Ambua Lodge high in the mountains.

On the way to the lodge we met our first Hoolies, or Wigman, walking along the road. We found out there was going to be a Sing Sing the next day, and therefore all the Wigmen were comingf in from the hills for the celebration.
